The Sikkim Tamang Buddhist Association (STBA) successfully concluded a three-month-long residential training program focused on promoting Tamang tribal arts. Held at Hyangla Dhim, this intensive program aimed to preserve and promote the rich cultural heritage of the Tamang community through hands-on training in various traditional art forms.
Key Highlights of the Training:
- Thanka Painting: Mastering the intricate art of religious and cultural painting.
- Wood Carving: Crafting traditional motifs and sculptures.
- Traditional Instruments: Learning to play and preserve indigenous Tamang musical instruments.
- Costume Making: Creating authentic Tamang traditional attire.
The program provided participants with an opportunity to acquire valuable skills, ensuring the continuity of Tamang art and culture for future generations.
